2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Undertakes strategic market research, competitor assessment, market and technology trend monitoring and identification of market opportunities to further enhance prospects of business growth.
Owns and drives product categories including activities such as range management, maximising product lifetime and profitability.
Owns and manages all commercial aspects of specified product plan from sign off through the complete life cycle.
Owns and assumes responsibility for the product roadmap including costing issues.
Works closely with the Company's internal and external distribution companies to build sound business plans for extending the penetration of markets.
Manages the careful transition of new products into the full range to ensure optimum benefit at launch.
Manages the complete product cycle from concept to launch through to the eventual deletion ensuring the product group achieves maximum profitability and return on investment.
Identifies product specifications, preparation and maintenance including preparation of Marketing Briefing documents for effective management of product sales.
Carries out assessment of market acceptability of product concepts through consumer research, and manages trade research carried out through affiliates.
Liases with the Marketing Team for production of printed materials including that needed for packaging, handbooks (including electronic implementations), product names, logos and product graphics.
Maintains liaison with the Marketing Team to create Product Positioning Documents, leaflets, photography & electronic imagery and PR materials.
Ensures provision of full support in terms of printed material and PR items, i.e. brochures, press releases and advertisements, to enable the sales teams to manage the pre-launch and sale of products effectively.
Manages the planning and implementation of customer service process and the efficient handling of product related queries.
