You'll be in the forefront of improving HSE assurance and integrating all aspects of health, safety, environment, social performance and security into the major capital projects for Shell and third party clients. In addition, you'll provide HSE assurance studies and advice to project design teams working both in the base office and in the project team, wherever it is located.
The main purpose of this role is to assist diverse and varied Project groups and other customers to establish a systematic, fit-for-purpose and cost-effective approach to the management of HSE risks within Capital Projects. This will require the full spectrum of HSE skills including setting up HSE management systems and providing HSE risk management advice and services for customers. Deliverables will address technical, environmental and social issues in a way that is fully integrated with the management of other business risks and activities.
You'll be expected to take responsibility for some of the following, depending on your own competence profile and complementary skills with existing team members:
Development and coordination of customer or project specific HSE management systems and HSE plans
Provision of integrated hazard and risk management support consistent with Shell Group policy
Application of HEMP based tools and techniques, including leadership and support of HAZIDs
Monitoring and disseminating industry expertise and best practice, e.g. through the facilitation of workshops and the provision of training
Help manage the overall project HSE assessment process and provide specialist HSE services including input to the key deliverables such as the Design HSE Case and the demonstration that risk levels are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)

Be accountable for the quality of the deliverables both in terms of technical content, clarity and practicality of the recommendations and solutions offered.
