Job Description / Responsibilities:
You will join a global team who advise and support Shell's operations by establishing systematic, fit for purpose and cost-effective approaches to the management of HSE risks. This will require the full spectrum of HSE management skills including development of management systems, providing HSE risk management advice, HSE auditing and behavioral safety. The work of the department, and hence that of the successful candidate will encompass service provision to both Upstream and Downstream customers inside and outside Shell.
Substantial intercontinental travel is required in this job, in spells of 1-2 weeks for up to 40% of your time. The ability to manage this in terms of work-life balance is a pre-requisite for this function.
Key responsibilities:
Development and coordination of HSE management systems and HSE cases
Provision of integrated hazard & risk management support consistent with Shell Group policy
Application of HEMP based tools and techniques, including leadership and support of HAZIDs
Monitoring and disseminating industry expertise and best practice through facilitation of workshops and provision of training.
Incident investigation and tripod analysis
Carrying out HSE audits of operations during design, construction and operational phases.
Advising on behavioral safety
Implementation of projects to a professional quality, on time, and within budget.
Participating in a virtual network, to transfer learning and take a pro-active approach to knowledge sharing and engagement with colleagues.

Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline (or similar)
In-depth International Oil and Gas operational experience with experience in the HSE management of onshore and/or offshore processes
Experience of developing & implementing HSE management systems to international standards
Capability to lead HSE management system audits of facilities and organizations
Capability to lead behavioral based safety improvement programmes
Fluent in written and spoken English
Demonstrated leadership skills
Strong team player with excellent communication and consultative skills
Drive and energy with the ability to form independent judgments and challenge conventional thinking
Intellectual integrity and honesty
Additional skills that would be an advantage include: -
Previous direct involvement or experience with Shell's HSE philosophy or methodologies
Capable of adapting systems and techniques to suit the job in hand
Courage to say no and reject ideas and proposals that do not meet hard scrutiny
