Responsibilities:
As one of our Process Engineers, you'll work on the scoping of new projects as well as moving projects through the value assurance process of opportunity identification, project definition, system selection, and final investment. We'll also look to you to manage the selection of appropriate surface facilities concepts through process engineering studies of alternative developments, including reporting progress against plan and proposing remedial activity plans.
In addition, we'll require you to perform the following tasks:
Identify and assess the effects of key subsurface uncertainties on the surface facilities concepts
Ensure all work is properly Quality Controlled by the appropriate technical authorities, the findings are documented and action items formally closed-out
Participate in the virtual knowledge sharing network and take a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and engagement with colleagues in operating units
Take a leading role in the execution of projects according to customer-defined requirements.
This role offers scope for learning and development either through on-the-job-training or through more formalized training courses, workshop and conferences. Excellent communications with the operational groups, partners and other stakeholders and with other technical disciplines within Shell's technical community are of key importance. This includes representing the technical work to the Shell customers and Joint Venture partners.
You'll be expected to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams and over time to become an engineering and integrated team leader. The coaching and mentoring of junior staff will be a significant part of the job.

Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements:
With a minimum BSc or its equivalent in chemical or mechanical engineering, and substantial experience as a process engineer in the upstream oil and gas industry, we'd prefer you to be a Chartered Engineer or its national equivalent.
Demonstrable experience in conceptual and detailed design of EP facilities is essential, as is broad exposure to all aspects of typical process engineering unit operations, including pipeline hydraulics and flow assurance.
You'll have good knowledge of reservoir engineering, production technology, well engineering and complimentary surface disciplines, such as mechanical and process control.
Your team working and interpersonal skills will be first class, and candidates with practical hands-on experience in either an operations or commissioning role will be at an advantage. We'd also prefer you to have experience with HYSYS and PIPESIM steady state modeling tools.
